Day 125- Mossel Bay 5/2/13

Great fruit salad for breakfast - I think the best any of us have ever had.
Having gone as far south as we could, it was now time to turn east along the Garden Route for our next stop in Mossel Bay (but first adding our "graffiti" to the hundreds of others on the hostel walls).

Arrived at our hotel to find five police cars outside (what disaster have we come to?) but were assured that this was simply because the police were holding a conference there. In view of the obvious high crime rate in South Africa, with virtually every house having grills on the windows and barbed wire fences (Stellenbosch golf course was surrounded by an electrified fence and many of the shops have locked iron grills barring the entrance doors, even during opening hours) this was perhaps not a bad thing!

Went to the cinema to see "Life of Pi" which was very good - wish it had been shown in 3D, particularly for the shipwreck scenes. Dinner at the Cafe Gannet (a very upmarket restaurant in spite of its 'cafe' name) for another great meal.
